I see you camouflaged in the leaves,

Rustling along like a rake in the sand.

I know you, ready to catch your next prey,

Hunting like an eagle perched on the streetlight.

I envy you in the open freedom of the Earth,

Callously slithering along the path of your jaded existence.

Oh, how I wish to break free from these shackles.

How I wish to slither away.

I see you standing over me,

Rustling along like a rake in the sand.

I know you have no regard for my measly life,

Hunting like an eagle perched on the streetlight.

I envy you having no regard for my life,

Callously walking along the path of your jaded existence.

Oh, how you free me! My life spared once again!

How I wish to slither away.
