We Are Our Problems - Ladan Mahadale

Updated: May 20, 2021

A red apple sits on a white table as a blurry, dark haired woman has her face covered by her hand with her other arm covering her bare chest.

Brought by humanity's greed,

More terrifying than your nightmares,

It'll snatch your soul,

For humans have a corrupt heart.

The sinful acts you transgress,

Which plenty think are okay

After all, humans can't live without making mistakes.

It'll feed off your existence,

For humans have committed terrible crimes.

It'll whisper dark thoughts,

Blind you in darkness,

Force you to remember,

One can never escape one's self.

It lurks in the corner of your mind,

But don't you blame them,

For you are the one who created it.
